You have eloquently worded your post. There must be a subset of atheists who do and do not believe in themselves? If I could not feel confidence in myself, I most certainly could not imagine a God loving me... even though I believe in the one and only God (Jesus is King)... I do not deserve His love or forgiveness. I realize even my "righteous" works are like filthy rags... (The term “filthy rags” is quite strong.
