Frölunda's experienced defender Christian Folin, 34, recently took part in a high-profile drinking contest that was posted on YouTube.
He has now been reprimanded by the club – and says he regrets his decision.

>“It was a bad decision, which I will learn from going forward,” Folin said in a statement reported by GP.

The video, which was recorded with podcast colleague Mikael “Goilarn” Nyrén and training profile Christian Brandin, involved drinking to a blood alcohol level of 1.1 in the shortest possible time.

>Folin is reticent about the reactions but says he has not experienced any major uproar:

“I don't think it has been particularly significant. However, there are always people who think differently, which must be respected.”

>The club management in Frölunda is clear about its dissatisfaction, though.

“We have a lot of followers, especially young people. We want to be good role models, and we don't think this is good,” says chairman Mats Grauers, who also confirms that Folin has received a warning.

>Since last spring, Folin and “Goilarn” have had a joint podcast with 13 episodes released so far. The collaboration has been appreciated, but the latest episode has raised questions about role models on social media.

“All of us at Frölunda need to think carefully when we're on social media,” says Grauers.

>Frölunda will now support Folin internally, but clearly states that it does not want to see a repeat of this incident.
