I'm this poster. Just got back from my trip. We wound up calling an audible and staying at the Cosmopolitan instead, which was a no brainer. Beautiful hotel, arguably one of the nicest in Vegas, at least that we saw.
Here are some takeaways that I'll pass on:
>>2760975 undersold how shitty Luxor is when we went to visit it. Total shithole. Looks cool from the outside though.
Coolest things we saw
>Neon Museum
>Circa Sportsbook with the insane two-story video wall and stadium seating
>Golden Knights game. They played like ass, but the fan energy was high
>Caramella restaurant at Planet Hollywood, especially if you can snag balcony seating on a day with great weather
>Atomic Liquors - get the bourbon mojito
>Penn & Teller - always loved these guys and was worth seeing them live. My only complaint is that it was only 90 minutes... I would've sat through four hours
Places/Things to avoid
>Most of the South Strip. Mandalay Bay is nice enough plus the aquarium is cool if you have kids, but everything else (Luxor, NY NY, Excalibur, MGM Grand) is shitty and/or boring
>Cosmopolitan speakeasies. They are just regular hotel bars in smaller rooms, I didn't get the appeal
>Mob Museum at full price. Not terrible, but felt a bit unfocused and cheesy
Things I want to do next time
>Visit the Sphere
>Atomic Testing Museum
>Battlefield Vegas
>Omega Mart - planned on going this originally but didn't get the chance
>Visit Park MGM (seems very nice and underrated)
>Catch a proper concert
