>going to vegas post covid and legal weed
It's shit, not even saying that as a meme of "was hekkin better when I was younger!" shit.

Weed being legal dragged in a bunch of slop level tourists and dude-bros from abroad going WEED DUDE HAHA WEEED. It's actually fucking annoying and strip smells like weed fueled piss rather than just booze and the occasional piss. The amount of mindless zombies walking around slow as shit high off their ass makes simple things annoying.

Covid also made hotels bend to anyone who thinks of coming, I don't know how many indian/mexican families I've seen. Pre-covid you'd see them here and there but now the strip, downtown, old strip, etc. They somehow during covid decided Vegas is the new spot to drag the entire family to. It's always fucking browns too.

>what to avoid
Vegas unless you got some unbeatable deal that's hard to say no to or there for a work conference. Rather would just go to Reno these days.

>hotels/places to stay
I prefer off strip properties. The D, Golden Nugget, Durango, GVR, Plaza, Downtown Grand. Rooms are affordable and nice enough. GVR is very nice if you don't mind being in Henderson.
>experiences/museums/tours/shows/rides
Fremont experience with live music, strip clubs but not the huge expensive ones, mob museum, neon museum, pinball museum, meow wolf. Not into shows or rides
>restaurants
There are hundreds that run the gamut from shitty cheap meals to amazing meals that cost more than your nightly hotel room. Figure out what kind of food you want and your budget, then narrow it down. I prefer to eat cheap but still quality like Le Thai or many of the Asian places in Spring Valley. Steak is massively overpriced in Vegas and not worth it, especially at strip hotels. They'll charge you $90 for a ribeye with no sides that is no better than your neighborhood steakhouse back home who charges half that much for a steak + sides.
>casinos/gambling tips
DON'T play: penny slots, 6:5 blackjack, crapless craps, triple zero roulette.
DO play: poker, 3:2 blackjack, 10x odds craps, single zero roulette, video poker, sports betting.
>deals/coupons/comps
Casino slot clubs are free to join and usually have a new player bonus. Sign up if you like the property. You can opt out of emails and mailers. If you gamble lots you'll get free play, free food, and free room offers frequently.
>nightclubs/nightlife
Not a nightclub guy besides the occasional strip club. I'd rather get drunk at a casino bar and shoot the shit with randoms than wait in line for hours to blow my budget buying massively overpriced drinks in a STD factory with sticky floors.
>what to avoid
Big expensive strip clubs like Spearmint Rhino, hookers on the strip or fremont, anyone who tries to get your attention on the strip since they are all scammers or some MLM type bullshit, peak weekends like NYE, spring break, F1, and super bowl.

>vegas is ghetto as shit now
I’m an oldfag. Been going annually since I was old enough to gamble. It’s not any different now than it was a generation ago besides being more corporatized and expensive. Vegas was always diverse because everyone can have fun in Vegas. It’s easy to get to from any airport and caters to every vice. The >muh post-covid ghetto Vegas is a retarded take that only exists on this site full of angry racist incels.

My first time in Vegas was 2004. I remember being surprised how many different languages I heard and how many different ethnicities were represented. It’s no different today. People from all over the world of all different classes having a good time. If that bothers you then don’t go to Vegas.

seasoned vegas visitor here. my advice
>limit gambling time
>keep a buzz. dont get fucked up
>consider going midweek. cheaper and no crowds
>book direct with hotels. expedia & priceline & hotwire are never better than booking direct
>drink more water than booze
>go to bed by 2am. nothing good happens after 2am.
>take the cash youre willing to lose and leave your debit card at home

Going for the first time in April, staying at the Luxor. Planning to visit Neon Museum, Mob Museum, Vegas Knights, Penn & Teller, Omega Mart, BattleBots, kayak excursion to Hoover Dam. Any other suggestions of what else to do, or avoid? Also looking for some good restaurant recs.

Luxor isn't great. Old, dated, musty, confusing layout. It's MGM so it comes with strip pricing for gambling and food. I'd suggest staying elsewhere like NYNY or Park MGM if you want to be on the south end of the strip, but you do you.

Your itinerary looks good. I'd skip Penn & Teller and go to Absinthe instead. Penn & Teller is for a boomer crowd. They have some good tricks but it's stuff you've seen before and/or can figure out easily. Absinthe will cost around $150, totally worth it tho. It's the best show in Vegas.

Museums are fun. If you're doing Neon and Mob museum, might as well do the Fremont experience too since you'll be a block away.

For food there's millions of places to chow. Like >>2758817 said pick the type of food you want and you'll have plenty of choices nearby. My personal favorite spots on the strip are Lavo (fancy italian), Yardbird (fancy southern), Hash House a Go Go (DDD style breakfast & burgers), and Wicked Spoon (buffet).

Strongly recommend checking out some of the speakeasies too. It's really fun to scope them out beforehand, then take your group to them while they think you're insane and opening doors you shouldn't open. Cosmopolitan has 3 and they're all awesome, there are also some on Fremont. Here's the Cosmo ones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIdm3cZ7ZJ8

I went to vegas for a wedding once and decided to visit red rock and the grand canyon, they were some of the most beautiful places I'd ever seen, only competition would be glacier national park. Since I only spent a long weekend there and mainly on the strip with other people I decided I should come back on my own one day. I like the new vegas game so I want to to visit some places from their along with different nature preserves around vegas as well as ghost towns, mainly camping outside the city only really staying in a hotel for a couple nights to visit museums and do some shopping in vegas.

Bullshit.

I lived in Vegas for 2 years. My best friend still lives there and I've been going 3-4 times a year since the 2000's. Vegas is drastically different than in was even just 3-4 years ago.

Downtown Vegas on Fremont street was scary when I first visited Vegas. They smartly tore down all the dilapidated section 8 and crappy motels and put in new businesses and completely revitalized downtown. On the weekends, it's completely packed.

Crime on the Strip was pretty rare before covid. The crowd was always 80 percent white. After they legalized weed, it's mostly black people on the weekends walking around and crime is through the roof. Crime rates doubled in Vegas after covid. Literally everything is locked up in every grocery store. You have to be buzzed in to the CVS on weekends on the strip.

The other big difference are the prices. Every casino on the strip charges a resort fee of $40/night + $25 a day parking + increased room rates + they restrict the free drinks. The buffets are mostly gone and the few that are left are insanely expensive.

Vegas used to really push for families to visit, but most of the family themed stuff on the strip is long gone. No more waterpark, no arcades, no free pirate show, no buffets, no room deals at the nicer resorts.

+1 agreed on all points.

I'd also add
Red Rock conservation area
Omega Mart
Eat Asian food on West Spring Mountain. There are dozens of new restaurants. I just did an AYCE jap place called 888 and it was fucking amazing. Hachi and Ichiza are also both fantastic
Go play a round of gold at Angel Park. It's a par 3 mini course. You can get a package deal with clubs and a cart for less than $100 on Cloud 9.
Check to see if first Friday is happening. It's a pretty cool free art fest.
Go hike Gold Strike Canyon or Arizona Hot Springs and see the Colorado river.
If you're into biking or skateboarding, there are like a dozen free skateparks around town.
I know it's a tourist trap, but Bonanza gifts on the strip is awesome.

When I was like 24, I went to Vegas with these two smoking hot 18 year old chicks I had met in my last semester at college. We got them a really good fake ID from my buddy who owns a piercing shop. People always forget their ID's and leave them with him. These two chicks were like 90 pounds and they would chug Jack Daniel's straight from the bottle and get wasted every night. They'd pass out in bathrooms, in front of our condo, in the car, on the floor. One casino had to put them in wheelchairs and literally wheel them out. But god damn we had a good time. They were a spectacle everywhere we went. If I did that shit now that I'm older, I would be so annoyed that I would have immediately ditched them the first night and never talked to them again. You have to be in the right frame of mind for Vegas.

Like I said, it's a mindset. In my early 20's, it was fun. But now, I would have been pissed. That's how Vegas is. It's all about your mindset. Yes, paying $17 for a beer in a club sucks, but you have to mentally prepare for it. When I visit Vegas now, we generally stay off the strip and it's a totally different experience. There's really good hiking right outside the city. The Asian food on the west side of town is literally the best in the US.

It doesn't necessarily need to be very cheap, just different than the complete corporate money grab of the strip. I know lots of gambling streamers in Vegas shoot at El Cortez and I kind of like the old school feel of the place. So maybe their subliminal advertising is paying off?

I like Vegas Matt, been watching him since he had a mid 5 figure subscribers on YT. But even he has grown kind of tired. It's not that his content is bad, it's just that gambling is bad. I hate these new slot machines that are just re-skinned versions of the same game. Yeah, I know it's a slot machine so your options for new ideas are limited but all the games are super high volatility that are bonus dependant and I don't want to play them myself, let alone watch someone else play them.

I do love his get even or get even worse table game bets and the 1000/per bet for each new thousand subscribers was gold. The rest of the streamers are a big bag of meh, but Mr Handpay is alright too I guess. He's pretty outgoing with his fans too and I've talked a lot of gambling with him online in the past.

The downtown hotels are really old. The rooms can be hit or miss. But you'll have a better time staying downtown if you're on a budget.
I always drive to Vegas. If you have a car, the strip hotels are just nicer. If you look up hotels on Expedia or Travelocity, anything cheaper than Treasure Island is going to be shitty. That's a good rule of thumb. Planet Hollywood is probably the best of the cheap strip hotels. The Paris would be second best of the cheap ones. If you want to spend a little more for a nicer hotel, look up Vdara and Aria.

Avoid Circus Circus(mexicans), the Rio (blacks), The Strat (too far), Harrahs (old), anything off the strip on west Tropicana (ghetto).

They're really not worth it. I know people have told you that before but seriously just ask yourself "what kind of food do I want to eat" and then google "best [food type] vegas" then pick whatever you think sounds good.
The buffets are not good. Not even Ceasars or the Wynn. It's just "all you can eat" but it's slop and if you spent the same amount at a [your food style] actual restaurant you'll still get filled up and have actually good food.
I'm serious.
If you're dead set on going to one, Wynn. Get the online reservation but don't get the expensive lobster thing because, again, if you just wanted to eat lobster go to a lobster restaurant.

Good. The time to gamble in Vegas has long passed. It’s a ripoff now and extremely difficult to break even let alone win. If you decide to gamble take $200 and play hold ‘em at a $1-$2 table. You can have fun playing poker for a couple hours on $200.

Wynncore is a beautiful complex, rooms are great, has everything you could need, but the clientele is usually older and there's not as much casino vibe as Cosmo. You're in a grey area on age where you may or may not like more noise and action and a younger crowd. Cosmo has that. But it's a 15 minute cab ride from one to the other so stay in the nice rooms at Wynn and spend time wherever you want.

I’d be happy to take a girl if she was down with your itinerary. In reality taking a woman to Vegas is
>wake up
>go to overpriced brunch on the strip with cute $20 cocktails
>take 3 pictures of her holding her cocktail
>walk around the mid-strip property for her to shop
>she buys nothing
>get a cute coffee drink for $20
>take 3 pictures of her holding coffee drink
>go to pool
>she wants a cabana for $100/hr
>take picture of her in the water with her back to you, arms resting on the pool deck looking off into the distance
>pay $20 for pool margarita
>take 3 pictures of her holding the margarita
>walk back to the room as she films herself describing the cute drinks and brunch and uploads it to instagram or snapchat
>take a nap or chill in the room as she uploads 10 more social media posts about her amazing cute Vegas trip
>actually go do something fun like gamble or walk the strip and people watch for 30 minutes
>she gets bored and wants to go to the high end luxury shops at the Bellagio
>looks at $1500 handbags while security eyes you like a hawk the whole time
>she buys nothing while subtly trying to get you to buy her a $1500 handbag
>takes selfies and other pics at Bellagio conservatory
>gets $20 cocktail from Bellagio piano bar
>uploads 10 more pics to social media
>wants to dress up for dinner
>wears her fancy sparkly cocktail dress while you have a decent steak and drinks for $250 before tip
>she wants a nightcap at a speakeasy or fancy bar
>more $20 cocktails and selfies
>she passes out back in the room before you have a chance to fuck

Never been but I’ve heard it’s expensive and unfulfilling. The ranches are far from Vegas and Reno so you gotta get a ride or rent a car. Obviously she won’t touch you without a condom, not even a hand. If you want a mid girl it’s several hundred per hour, a hot girl or traveling pornstar is over a thousand per hour.

Guy I worked with did it for his 40th birthday after finalizing his divorce. He fucked some aging pornstar and said she was hot and put in good effort but the environment was strange and he couldn’t get into it. He paid for the hour and was bored of fucking her after fifteen minutes. She tried to get him to bring her to Vegas for some overnight thing for five grand. Id imagine that’s when you can go raw but who wants to go bare inside a porn whore with a million miles on her.

vegas strip clubs are crazy overpriced but if you're willing to spend a lot of money they'll let you do anything (and i mean anything) behind closed doors. not worth it for me. too easy to spend two or three grand on a couple hours of fun.

i said this before in a previous vegas thread - if you want to enjoy strip clubs make a trip to portland oregon. portland has a crazy high number of strip clubs per capita which are fully nude and let you touch them. they won't have supermodel hot strippers like vegas but it will cost you like 10% as much for the same experience

I'm this poster. Just got back from my trip. We wound up calling an audible and staying at the Cosmopolitan instead, which was a no brainer. Beautiful hotel, arguably one of the nicest in Vegas, at least that we saw.

Here are some takeaways that I'll pass on:

>>2760975 undersold how shitty Luxor is when we went to visit it. Total shithole. Looks cool from the outside though.

Coolest things we saw
>Neon Museum
>Circa Sportsbook with the insane two-story video wall and stadium seating
>Golden Knights game. They played like ass, but the fan energy was high
>Caramella restaurant at Planet Hollywood, especially if you can snag balcony seating on a day with great weather
>Atomic Liquors - get the bourbon mojito
>Penn & Teller - always loved these guys and was worth seeing them live. My only complaint is that it was only 90 minutes... I would've sat through four hours

Places/Things to avoid
>Most of the South Strip. Mandalay Bay is nice enough plus the aquarium is cool if you have kids, but everything else (Luxor, NY NY, Excalibur, MGM Grand) is shitty and/or boring
>Cosmopolitan speakeasies. They are just regular hotel bars in smaller rooms, I didn't get the appeal
>Mob Museum at full price. Not terrible, but felt a bit unfocused and cheesy

Things I want to do next time
>Visit the Sphere
>Atomic Testing Museum
>Battlefield Vegas
>Omega Mart - planned on going this originally but didn't get the chance
>Visit Park MGM (seems very nice and underrated)
>Catch a proper concert

Wynn also doesn't have balcony or fountain view rooms though, which are pretty cool if you haven't done it before.
>>2774750

That's part of the appeal, they are smaller, more intimate, and chill than the Chandelier bar for example. Vesper is cool for a hotel lobby bar. It also doesn't help that everyone is copying Cosmo speakeasies now. Aria, Bellagio, RW to name a few are doing them now.

>decked out security patrols
>bums getting drunk and needing ambulances every 30 minutes due to sun stroke after being brought there in police cars to begin with
>scammers (either the card passing weird spics or whores trying to whip people randomly like its fucking reverse Lupercalia or some shit)
The only things worth doing are going to a sports game, any recreational thing like Omega Mart or the Pinball Museum, or to shoot machine guns (which you can do in literally any other town for half the price.)

Almost every restaurant is a ripoff, drinks are stupidly expensive and the food is mostly mediocre. I unironically would've probably had more fun in NYC or Chicago for the same stretch of time. The corpos truly ruined Vegas for everyone. Even Fremont Street is expensive now.

The problem with Vegas slots is they're dominated by those "collect cash amount medals" with multi-level jackpots. You're never going to win the big jackpots so you're left with what amounts to ultra low volatility machines where the only 'jackpots' you'll see are 5x wins, you never see line wins of more than 5x and features rarely breach 20x. They just slowly drain your money away with no realistic prospect of a big win.

Online casinos tend towards high volatility with no jackpots but features that typically pay 100x and can go insane. It's always amusing seeing a big streamer do a bit vegas trip and end up completely unamused by the shitty bonuses and the lack of any big wins.

The Aria hotel is the only place you should be staying at. If you can afford it, you should get a room at the sky suites. You’ll have an even better time if you can get yourself a host, such as my great host Al’.

Once again, the Aria. The lobby always has a beautiful art display, and another one made of edible sweets in a glass case by the bakery. Just outside of the Shops at Crystals, there’s an art exhibit, which has some interactive rooms. The Sphere is also great, especially if you can get V.I.P. passes/tickets, though the movie is really boring and I’d only do it if seeing a concert or to experience the lobby area where you wait for the show.

Hate to be a shill, but once again, the Aria. There’s a restaurant called Javier’s which is amazing. There’s another called Julian Serranos, I would skip out on that one if I were you. There’s also a Carbone inside but it’s very overrated. You’ll also find a food court with all kinds of food, including a pizza restaurant owned by Steve Aoki. I’d recommend the Bao Buns from some restaurant there which I can’t remember. If you can find it there’s also a French Restaurant inside the same “mini mall” type place by the Shops at Crystals that has the ice skating rink. Yellow Tail is always very good and that one is the one place you need to go to, no questions asked.

Happy Travels Anon!

Not doing Vegas right. Go ahead be cheap, stay home and go to your local Indian casino hotel. Vegas is for a nice steak dinner. Yes Vegas can get expensive but do you really want to come all this way to do something you could do you could do close to home?

Fremont is neat to check out but old, this whole post is for cheapo college students who want to tell others they went to Vegas, not for people who really want to enjoy it. I tolerated endless amounts of morons with no money and they were miserable, upset at their shitty hotel room etc.

My advice:
>Stay on the Strip, Wynn is maybe as nice as it gets for most people, Bellagio and Cosmo sure, what about Vdara (not as well known, has kitchenettes)?
>Avoid all the freebies and promos and deals and people trying to lure you in (to cheap garbage)
>Check out Fremont if you like the Old Vegas look, Modern Vegas and Fremont are two different animals
>If there for work, get as close as you can to where you need to be traffic gets horrible sometimes, Trump for instance is super close to CC, non smoking, quieter, no casino, etc.
>It's a town that runs on tips, Strip employees will go the extra mile for you if they know you already tipped them, even a small tip will get you so much more attention
>For events, traffic can get really bad (especially for huge events near/on the Strip), try to WALK to your hotel, get out and FEEL THE CROWD ENERGY on your walk, don't make the mistake of getting out of the event into a boring quiet cab with some chink driver while you are still going etc
>Don't go to Vegas alone unless you've been there many times before and know what you like to do
>Vegas is designed for spontaneity, you can go in with a plan all you want but someone will catch your eye, food will smell good, shop looks neat, etc, stuck in the hotel or a cab you won't see shit, gotta get out and WALK

Stayed at the Venetian; Great place if you have the money, asked for an upgrade to a better room with a view of the strip, and was well accommodated.

>Food
Ate at Mon Ami Gabi, across from the Bellagio, and Hell's Kitchen.
>Casinos
Didn't do much REAL gambling, but I popped a dollar into a slot machine and won $5,000 that paid for the entire weekend trip.... knew when to draw the line after that.
>Deals/Comps...
Kept to myself, didn't want to talk to people about comps, looked like a scam.
>Nightclubs
Too old for that shit....Aria has a hidden speakeasy though that was kinda cool.
>What to avoid
Everything else that isn't tourist-y.

Again, people come to Vegas, because they're seen Ocean's Eleven a hundred times, and binged watch CSI...

But there's really no REAL reason to go to Vegas unless you're a degenerate high-roller... Hookers and Strippers are fake AF; strange enough Vegas might be the only place on the planet that actually enforces their prostitution laws. And some club you can't touch them in the VIP room unless you pay out the nose. And I've been to Bangkok where girls will blow you under the table of the nightclub, and yet I have to drive a 100 miles outside the country and forgo a mortgage payment to get half that experience? I'd rather go to Bangkok and save money.

Vegas is known as Sin City but you have to pay a lot for the sin, so what's the point?

going to vegas for the first time in oct, probably going to be like ~4 ish nights (basically do I fly the night after work? or the next morning, do I come back a day early and have another full day to do errands and relax, or do I fly back, go to sleep and back to work) +/- 2, tbd, only had the leave request approved a few hours ago.

Hows the "public transport" situation over there? I'm not particularly planning on getting a rental, since I don't really see myself leaving the strip. Or is this more a taxi and uber situation?

Some things I definitely want to see; are these mostly worth it? or past their prime, or some kinda this was never good and always a tourist trap:

medieval times dinner with the jousting
aquariums
Museum of Ilusions
Erotic Heritage Museum
Hollywood Cars Museum & Liberace Garage

now shows: (based on who's in town when I will be)
Jerry Seinfeld
Earth Wind & Fire

Now about the casinos; what are the "good ones" (I don't mean like odds to win, I mean just overall novelty and fun to hang out in [internal amenities etc...]) to check out? I know there's a shitload of casinos there and I could just as well walk into the first one nearest my hotel and have a good time, but it'd be a bit of a shame to just go hit something up because it was nearby if there was something that'd be much much better a few more steps away.

How "walkable" is the strip? is this someplace like... other "big cities" where you can just aimlessly barcrawl around and find cool shit around any corner (nyc, tokyo etc...). Or is it more of a place you want you want to have well made plans and/or reservations? Like is this the kinda place you can just step out onto the strip and wander and have a good time, or more like you want to research lots of places ahead of time and have an itinerary(food and drink)?

>how walkable is the strip
With decent weather it's perfectly walkable as long as you don't mind walking several miles per day. Mid summer I would not recommend it. Lots of intersections require you to walk back off the strip a couple hundred yards, climb stairs or use an escalator, cross on a pedestrian bridge, then backtrack to the strip again. The properties look right next to each other but often times it's 1/2 mile walk to the closest casino entrance. If it's 72 degrees that's tolerable but this time of year it's 110 and miserable to be outside more than a few minutes unless you're at a pool.

You can walk through casinos to get to the next door property sometimes. That's a lot better when it's sweltering. There's also some free transport stuff like the free tram that connects Bellagio, Aria, and Park MGM. I think Mandalay Bay & Excalibur have a free tram too.

There's also a paid monorail (pic rel) on the east side of the strip which gets a lot of hate but I've used it plenty of times with no issue. The drawback is the monorail drops you off at the edge of properties so you have to walk a long way to get to the strip. IIRC a 24hr unlimited monorail pass is around $16

Im fine with paying a bit more for a more memorable experience and i can afford it, but really i just want some place that is "nice" but not exorbitant (dont care about a penthouse suite with a hottub and 24/7 roomservice and a gym and pool etc etc.... its just a place to sleep at, and mostly be out and about on the strip)

What are the written and unwritten rules about alcohol out and about on the strip (and in casinos, and other indoor attractions).

let's not get into "obviously would be unacceptable in any context" things like don't walk into some fast food or coffee shop, and just sit down and start drinking without ordering anything type stuff, or bringing your own drink to the bar, or some show with a drink minumum etc...; what are the finer nuances?

I know you can walk and drink on the strip; I'm guessing a beer in hand should be fine, but what if I've got a bottle of liquor; should I be brown bagging that?
Or what about doing some gambling at the casino, I know there's free drinks, otherwise I wouldn't be asking (like I 'd imagine it'd be an obvious NO at a place that doesn't have free drinks) can I bring along my own 6pack or handle? or would that be awkward and possibly asked to leave thing?

yeah and it's not explicitly illegal to blast music on your cellphone on the subway, or to leave your shopping cart in the middle of the grocery store parking lot, I'm asking more for what's considered socially acceptable vs not. That being said if "sin city"s pretty 'everything goes' with with more minor public degeneracy (like walking around with a handle of cheap whiskey in-hand) and that's pretty business as usual then that's fuckin cool too. I guess I'm talking about the whole "there isn't explicitly a dress code that they're going to kick you out for, but you're going to feel like an asshole if you're the only one in a hawaiian shirt, khaki shorts and flipflops, and everyone else is in tuxedos and cocktail dresses

You would probably need to get two rooms for six dudes. Metropolitan suite at Flamingo are two bedroom with one king and two queens in the bedrooms. Those rooms run about $400/night so you could get two and be good. Plus they have a cool view of the strip (if you get an even numbered room) and Flamingo has a new party pool. Good location if you want on the strip.

Founders Suite at Circa is two bedrooms with a king bed in each but the room is huge. I recall it being about $800/night. Two of those rooms would fit you all.

The Chairman's Suite at Golden Nugget is two bedroom with king beds in each but is also a massive room and has a rooftop hot tub on the balcony, although the hot tub looked pretty jenky and we didn't use it. It runs about $750/night if I recall correctly. If you booked that one and the Presidential Suite right across the hall, it would accomodate your group and probably be about $2k/night.

You can get 2 connecting rooms or a suite which usually means a large living room type room with and it has beds but you can usually get a 2 queens room connecting to the suite for a little more. The prices on these varies a lot throughout the year, and they come in different configurations. Call and ask what you can do, sometimes they'll hook you up and you will pay less per person for the suite than you'd pay for separate rooms.

Drinking out of a full bottle of liquor might raise eyebrows because it looks trashy and you look like a homeless wino but you can get away with pouring it in a cup and walking around with a soda cup full of Jack Daniels and coke just fine.

Bringing your own alcohol is fine though hotels might be weird about it if you're carting massive quantities in. There's nothing weird in Vegas about walking from your hotel room downstairs with a beer that you purchased elsewhere or carrying around a drink between different parts of the property. Pulling beers out of a backpack while gambling would again look trashy, and why do it, when they will give you whatever drink you want for free.

The exception might be the pool. You might not be allowed to bring liquor into the pool, particularly if its glass. Beer might be ok. There will be a bar at the pool.

Non gaming properties like a museum will not want you to bring outside alcohol in. Having in hand luggage might probably be ok if bags are allowed to be brought in.

Tipping is a big part of the culture and economy. Tip people even if they provided you a free service or beverage.

I was driving to Utah and stopped in North LV to grab some snacks and sweet jesus that was a terrible, terrible place. The supermarket I almost didnt walk into because I thought it was closed. Dark windows, no advertisements, no foliage, trash everywhere, dirty walls, but sure enough the store was open and the entire place absolutely reeked of mold. Every white person looked like a leathery desert rat meth addict or morbidly obese scooter rider, and there were black people everywhere. Being in a place I wasnt familiar with that had black people lurking around every corner had me very much on edge, so I was relieved when I got back to my car. Vegas is what you make it. There are high end restaurants and exclusive nightclubs that will potentially require certain clothing. 99% of Vegas is accessible in a T-shirt and jeans though. It's down but they're massively overstating it. It's maybe 10% down at most, that's not enough for the whole "it's a ghost town!" hyperbola we're seeing. There is some evidence that the hotels are losing a lot of convention bookings though and those will hurt it massively. All the nickel and diming really hurts both the staff and the companies, not to mention potential clients. Doing expenses for a vegas hotel stay must be stressful as fuck with random $25 charges everywhere and a worry that things will get rejected.

They absolutely need to make the strip cheaper otherwise visitors will keep staying away. Remove all the charges and blatant attempts to rip you off. Get the buffets back and stop charging more than fine dining costs for the better ones. Stop fucking with the odds, gambling on low odds slots with features that almost never go beyond 20x is a miserable experience (for some fun, look up British gambling streamers reactions when they try Vegas slots when they usually play online or in British slot parlours).
