this is some fucking wilful misreading of the story.
Pa Kent knew Clark would eventually come out to the world as Superman, in fact he never shuts up about it in the flashbacks, he knows Clark is his invincible son and yet STILL sacrifices his life to save a dog and stops Clark from doing the same because he still wants Clark to live a peaceful life for as long as possible.
