I have a pet theory that it's the greater volume of ESLs online, and more so that they are lower class. You can be a foreigner and be chill, articulate, ect. I have a friend I am sure whose been on 4chan whose El Salvadorian but he got acclimatized to that mainstream internet culture, I've got a Brazilian officewoman friend and plenty others. But you start to think about schizophrenic writing, boomer writing, ESL and not fluent writing and it all has very similar qualities.

Just imagine if you suddenly knew enough Japanese to JUST get by, got transported to 2chan. Not permanently, you want/need to post there but you also still regularly post on 4chan.
