Has anyone here played Chants of Sennaar? Could you tell me about your experience with it without spoiling? Did you think it was good/worth the money?
I used to love translating when I took language classes in school, so game based around deciphering and translating languages is very appealing. I've seen some mixed reviews though, some people saying that the language mechanic is undercooked and that the entire game is far too easy. I'm on the fence.
I saw in a video review that the game lets you confirm glyphs by matching them to drawings in the journal, which seems like it would make things easy. Do you think it would be possible to play the game without using that mechanic, and instead just rely on a handwritten notebook?
Are there any other games that have language/translation as a mechanic? Thanks.
