This shit all started because the fuckers running BNY Mellon, Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo all needed a way to bail them out of the reckoning they had earned themselves after the Financial Crisis. They worked with the US Government, under both Bush and Obama, to prop up and incorporate insane identity politics and the Progressive Stack in order to appear to cave to political pressure while never actually hurting their bottom lines. This fucked up the entire business and academic culture of the United States, and with it, the rest of the developed world. They gave pathological abusers of jargon and compartmentalized, unfalsifiable political theory carte blanche to direct the culture, and defended them the first time it came to a head in 2014 with GamerGate. Because that was shot down, a large number of formerly apolitical people became radicals on both sides.

It's a lot like what happened in the lead up to World War II. Communists and Socialists started getting footholds, demanding constant upheaval and double standards of people while undermining institutions and strong arming the apolitical classes. Which is what prompted Fascism to develop, along with a significant streak of abject distrust of the now subverted institutions and everything they had ever established as truth, taking up a philosophy of negating everything the other side believes, whether it's part of that subversion or not.

The same exact fucking thing is happening now.
