Yeah. I feel like current sci-fi films never bother to focus much on their in-universe props, vehicles or items. The most recent thing people remember is probably the Ornithopter from Dune, but that's it. Meanwhile in Avatar, despite the environmentalist theme in these movies, they didn't mind focusing on their sci-fi props. They even went out of their way to showcase them in a big way; the ISV space stations, the helicopters, gunships, and now with Avatar 2 - the boats, crab submarines and their various tech, etc. Say what you want about those movies, but they have a great showcase of sci-fi mechanical designs imo.
