Honestly, after "Kira in hiding" arc, i sort of got this idea of it going a different direction
>Kira slowly begins to grow into his new life
>"Hey, this normalfag life is actually pretty sweet and peaceful, just as i wanted, and i even have a wife with hot hands too"
>Genuinely does a 180 on himself and begins to genuinely care, but the kid is still being nosy over his dad being way too nice now
>Suddenly, the gang finds he's Kira as a result
>Completely disregard everything he might say in his defense, begin chasing him because he's Kira (And justified - he did murder people after all), 120% of prejudice ensues, forcing him to go nuclear on everyone in self-defense (Including the timeloop shit)
>The gang just have none of it (Or are completely unaware at all), and just murder what's now a pretty chill guy keeping his new family afloat
Yeah redemptions are lame, but here its more or less "We wont allow you to be redeemed and unknowingly force you back into evil as a result" stuff, which i dont see often and could have made a nice story.
