I think they are afraid of releasing the files or video footage, not just because they themselves have participated, but because what happens in those videos is just not sex, I think it's way worse: torture, ritual sacrifice, dismemberment, murder, cannibalism etc.
And it's not done just to teenagers, but infants etc.
The island was a place where they could release their darkest most deranged and primal repressed psychotic urges, what do you think those would be? Missionary sex with a younger girl? Come on..

So, people like this are very dangerous, there are a lot of them and all of them are in positions of power. Cornering them and fucking them over will surely have some repercussions. I bet they are already blackmailing and threatening anyone trying the shed some light on the issue.
