Thinking your predictions of someone else's story years in advanced is insane, but to say that Toby doesn't have fun with the audience himself in this fashion is gaslamping the situation. I will say almost every flavor text in the game is deliberate and important, but it might not be important to what people think it could mean later. Something that seems obvious right now could just be a mirage in the next chapter, and that's probably what people get annoyed at the most. People having the audacity to put the pieces together, but then the ghost-shaped silhouette turns out to be a tablecloth on top of a lamp.
The moral of the story is: never discuss an ongoing story written by a master shitposter, because people will make fun of you for not being a psychic.
