I've driven the little midget cricket Hino and Isuzu cabovers. They're definitely nimble and maneuverable but they're terrible on the highway. Our company had a couple Canters which were the worst vehicles possible so my views on Japanese truck reliability are pretty tainted. No American manufacturers really do small cabovers aside from GM and that reliability is probably going to be a gamble.
