You might pay more but I doubt the farmers will want to hire people that pay more. In theory the shift is good because it spreads the job market and people would actually be paid more. In actuality companies will raise the price to offset the tariffs and use foreign labor because they don’t want to pay people mor and there are no incentives. Any production shifts would take years to implement and it is never a guarantee that the current regime will stay and all this won’t be rolled back. This should have been a slow gradual progress instead of a front loaded shit but the government tried to quit being a consumerist based economy cold turkey and is stupid.
