wtf is Gaster's attachment to Deltarune? Like he goes full Baron Harkonnen at the end of ch4

I thought he just wanted to piece himself back together into some kind of corporeality, but he seems to finally let slip another desire here.
But is "my Deltarune" the story, the prophecy, a physical implement of power? The characters?
I want to believe he wants a happy ending like I do.
I wonder if there will be a moment like the book version of Return of the King, where Gaster reaches into the story for the briefest moment to give the tiniest push that nonetheless opens a new path.
