I kind of want to go minimalist kitchen as well. I am thinking of just getting a mess tin, single knife and cutting board, single fork, and seeing how far I can get with just those tools.
I don't usually cook anything too adventurous and I'm fine with it looking like sloppa. I only ever cook for myself (permavirgin will never have a woman in my house so why care?)
I've realized 90% of everything every man buys is to impress women. Now that I've awoken to this Matrix I am trying to escape and buy only the things that improve MY life and not useless shit that schlomo has convinced women that men should have.
