I'm hard-pressed to say that the hacky-slashy gameplay has improved because you're still just fucking mashing but the worse thing about the new gameplay is how demon management during combat is just straight up non-existent now. MAG replacing MP means you just mash even more now and not being able to tell what skills your demons should spam means you're just slamming buttons 100%$ of the time.
