Right, this is the part I've become more familiar with over the last year. I'm sure he's a very, very nice guy. Genuinely. I have no problem with him, personally. But I am baffled by some of the things I've seen him say and defend.
Not to say he's alone amongst FF devs, though. I was baffled by FFXVI as a whole. And I am baffled by Dawntrails existence. It makes me think to myself "I really don't want to see his name attached to the next Final Fantasy title I purchase."
The world of MMOs and FFXIV and basically everything about CS3 brand FF games is foreign to me and has almost always been quite unappealing to my sensibility overall. Then when I see the images of the game developers wearing cultist robes combined with the non stop praise online, when the products are so middling (IMO)....I really question what the fuck is actually going on?

It's been about 5 days or so. /ffg/ has been terribly slow the last week, you know? I also mentioned other trolling that gets repeated like Yoshitpiss and fatherless. I have debated here (fruitlessly) with others on the "valid criticisms" that I myself have for the series despite loving it, multiple times before. Just to see the same trolling get repeated ad nauseum, because it's just a trolling gimmick (bait), not a real opinion.
But you, only targeting that specifically...that just leads me to believe you know exactly how often this little nugget has been repeated in here over the last, lets say...6 years now? I don't really know myself though, because I haven't been posting here that long. I only absorbed this schizo lore through osmosis. Only the person who directly mentions his last 5 years of posting here (and the man who was mind broken by it) even knows what he's talking about with his "FFVIIR criticism, we killed the Whispers, Tidus in part 2 joke" business.
