I'm attempting to repair a faulty right channel connector for my 4.4mm MMCX IEM cable. Might any anons be willing to give some feedback? I'm going to attempt to fix itI confirmed it's the cable itself (right channel) when testing each IEM because swapping them didn't change the result, and pressing on the solder joints to the terminals could momentarily restore sound if held in just right. This is a manufacturer defect which I already received a refund for before, but it irritates me, so I want to give it a go.
I took pictures. Here is one image of the cable with the metal jacket slid downwards. Quite the ugly job; just blobs of solder, and hot glue to stabilize. From what I could see, one channel uses the outer copper strands (as a ground?), and the other uses the separate line for the right channel audio. I thought it'd be two cables for each rather than this configuration, but it seems not. I'll post another pic after this.
