If you want to have your own version of the autism, I'm opposed to translating ch8's 好き/大好き as love. I think at this point in their relationship a softer "like/really like you too" is more fitting, especially given Kasumi's upcoming drama over getting too close. Kasumi admits to herself she's in love with Haruyo but is hesitant to express it. Given the line 私もあなたが大好きです gets a full page to itself, it's of course a weighty statement but the implication isn't lost by softening it. And it's an amplification of Haruyo's 好き which is objectively softer, and "love/really love" is definitely unfitting while "like/love" is disjointed in a way where Kasumi would need to be assuming Haruyo's feelings.

It's also worth noting the composition of the page: no characters in frame, just trees weighted by snow. It's distant and cold despite the warmth of the words. There's a lengthier interpretation of what cold represents this chapter: it's both icy reality that shocks Kasumi out of her daydream, but an insulating factor that keeps Kasumi and Haruyo in their own private world (as we see with the "cocoon" page). Igarashi might be consciously evoking both with snow blanketing the branches. After all, snow is both freezing yet can be a good temporary shelter from the cold. But nothing can bloom under it. Like a cocoon, a snowy branch is a yore in progress. I think this line needs to walk that very same tightrope.

That is to say, translating 好きs always sucks. Everyone's desperate for the heavy stuff. I'm no different. But these two have a ways to go before hitting each other with unambiguous love, and I'm certain we'll get there eventually. Haruyo isn't entirely conscious of her feelings, Kasumi is under her self-imposed shackles. I might do a brief extra page on the nuance of 好き/大好き/愛してる vs like/love.

It's touched on again next chapter. Really 7 was unusually optimistic. Kasumi is about to swing back to menhera.
