>How do people get to adulthood and still believe in god?
M.
God is much more than a thing we blindly put our fait in to get some rewards after we die. This is condemned.
Overall 2 things emerge.
1. God is a logical limit of our understanding. By using deduction we can determine that there must've been an unmoved mover, a transcendent being who is responsible for existance, once one understands the basics of the ontological and cosmological arguments the statement that the universe always existed will be both illogical and scientifically less plausible.
2. The belief that God is good - the moral argument. If one were to rely on scriptures like the Bible one could also observe offects in reality of following what it says. Historically Europe was very religious, people had families and the word of God ruled over them as a basis for a good life. Today in Europe atheism is becoming much more prevelant, people use politics and identity as a new religion, countries are collapsing demographically and for example society is ostracising many young men leading them into frustration. If these young men have no meaning in life, the secular law means nothing as they'll be ready to die tomorrow.
A few of them wonder if there's anyone who can help people like them, who will listen, who will give these morally, psychologically and spiritually broken ones new life and as it turns out there is, He is the one who was rejected, tortured, humiliated and killed and yet never repayed evil with evil, but blessed those who persecuted him, and he blessed the meek and those persecuted for the righteous cause.
God puts a limit to our behaviour, He liberates us from evil and gives us another chance in life, if God is your only master you are a slave no nothing in the world. If i had not taken up the cross, i might've killed someone by now.
Also Christianity is cool depending on the denomination - Catholicism/Orthodoxy makes you a fanatic which i find based.
