Taurus tried, but all they really did was chop the grip and make one side shitty clear plastic. Stacking gimmicks didn't help and they were poorly executed to begin with.
Making a reduced size 4 shot 38 cylinder would have been too much r&d and reducing capacity doesn't make the necessary volume that much smaller because you still need the hardware on the inside anyway.
