It's because Pokefags got really really fucking mad when Tai started beating the shit out of Red in their fight. And to his credit, Ash does have better physical feats than regular Yugi, even if it's pretty clearly not intended by the show creators and tends to just come from weird cartoon shit or from Pokemon sizes and weights being game-accurate which they often just aren't.

But Pokefags are still smarting from the now decade old ass gaping they got from Digichads and want a scene where Ash punches Yugi or something, even if Yugi would kill him well beforehand or could use something like Duel Armor to physically overpower Ash anyway
