I find it actually incredible how Konami somehow manages to fuck up selling cardboard in TCG regions, yet simultaneously just stumbles into success occasionally (pic unrelated).
>Sets feature next to no collectability (unless you count Starlights, but they aren't a big enough draw to warrant cracking cases for)
>You can't actually build anything in these sets, unless they debut in these sets (e.g. Artmage)
>Cards simply don't work within the context of the set itself, so the sets aren't really draftable (Right off the bat the cover archetype doesn't function within the set. Zubababa Knight can't search anything. Gogogo Goblindbergh has no non-Warrior Gogogo targets to summon etc.)
>The hype for the sets and their impact came and went 3 months prior to its TCG release, with the only spice being the TCG exclusives (which are dogshit)
Like DUAD flopped but its because the only thing actually keeping the TCG afloat is either A) meta staples being so low-print (Secret) that multiple boxes need to be bought to acquire them, which passes the price onto singles purchasers or B) featuring reprints of said meta staples so that more people can afford them (not applicable to main sets).
