>Catwoman and Ivy's designs would be my only big criticisms so far....
cont:

...but a medium one would be how the small coastal(?) town Bruce/Yohualli is from is still presented as being very culturally similar to stuff from the capital when that's odd (tho not impossible), and there's some other smaller nitpicks (EX: His dad is named Toltecatzin and Alfred is Acatzin, when switching them would work better since "Tolteca" means artist/craftsmen and "Acatl" means reed, and Alfred helps him design his equipment)

In any case, overall it looks pretty well researched, and it's probably going to be the best or second best researched piece of media I know of that focuses on Mesoamerica directly made by a major commercial studio (so excluding stuff that started as indies) alongside Onyx Equinox. That perhaps speaks more to how most media butcher the setting then anything else, but they still did a good job here with the Mesoamerican stuff

Where is that bio from? I haven't read that one before and I've kept up with most news about this. I hope that's not implying that sacrifice is a "new" thing in the setting. I like Road to El Dorado but it does a similar thing where sacrifice is just a outlier thing a single priest is pushing rather then as a broader religious practice.

The Mexica of the Aztec capital did likely sacrifice a few thousand people a year, but only certain victims had their remains used for ritual cannibalism, so I'd be skeptical thousands were cannibalized a year.

He's just wearing that for that scene, compare to pic which shows his initial outfit mostly like a normal priest in a xicolli tunic and with ritually unkempt hair, then at the bottom he's getting more joker-y and then presumably by the end he looks like https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/antagonists/images/3/33/Yoka_voice_actor.jpeg with a bunch of Tezcatlipoca elements, as I alluded to in my last post
