Why is the bucket so small?

I want to make NY Kvasir work with Lyn ring, i.e. trigger her special in one combat, and preferably not die. If you could do it with Lyn's ring, you then refresh someone nearby which could be a cute strat. Alm's special jump C could help. Sadly with 21 def and every tank running hardy bearing, it could prove difficult to make it viable.
