The rosecrutian basically belive humanity is unworthy of the gifts of the divine but unironically use them for their own self intrests and powers.
Their a very hippocritical order . . . Think of them like the brotherhood of steel in fallout 4 trying to get all the technology for themselves. . . But instead it's "magic"
Because it's claimed the arch-magi of atlantis nearly brought about our destruction amd extinction durring the collapse of the pre-antidulvial societies. Thus they were set up to oppose (most?) mystical traditions they feel threaten to expose the old sciences of the arch-magi.
