Am I really going to reply to schizoposting with more schizoposting?
Braid's story is not as simple as "you were the villain all along dun dun duuun!!" like everyone thinks it is, it's actually a little more complicated.
>There are two princesses, one is Tim's ex-girlfriend and the other one is the idea that would lead to the atomic bomb. Tim loses his girlfriend trying to find the metaphorical princess.
>There are two Tim's, the real Tim that embarks on a journey through his memories to find out what went wrong in his relationship and try to still find the princess... and the Tim that could have been if he gave up on the metaphorical princess, resulting in a happy, successful life with his girlfriend by his side.
>By the final level, all Tims and Princesses overlap, causing Tim to either understand the truth of his relationship (Normal ending) OR reach the idea that would lead to the creation of the atomic bomb (Secret ending).

Braid is, to what I understood after reading its lore and getting all the stars, a tale about obsession and resolve; about embracing mistakes and learning from them instead of attempting to live a perfect life at the expenses of running away; And at the end of this tale, Tim is left with a small castle made of loose ideas, symbolizing Tim's understanding of his memories and, if you chased the princess, the constellation of a chained damsel, symbolizing the permanency of his creation.
