This is a neat idea, but I'm not sure you can equate it to "character shutting down the game against the player's will"
1. The dialogue implies "dead games" or dying means they just lost the players. Not some kind of actual "destruction" like the games being deleted by some godlike entity. The dialogue after you win also hammers the point home, as long as there are artists, players, etc. the games will never die.
2. The server irl didn't actually shut down during this cutscene right? The character said it but it didn't happen. Unlike in Undertale where the game actually shuts down irl so it's not really comparable.
