japanese horror has spooky ideas but most of the time the execution sucks total donkey balls. it's no surprise some of these characters are basically porn icons now.
you need westerners to make these concepts reach their full potential. when it comes to films the american remakes of the ring, the grudge (ju-on), and dark water completely utterly mog the originals. particularly the ring, which imo is a modern classic. still creeps me out desu.
