Speaking as one of the most dedicated Dawntrail doomers, I have to admit I actually really liked this patch and Wuk Lamat finally became a decent character when they stopped giving her two out of every three lines of dialogue, just by trimming her down to the essentials. The Japanese VA actually trying helped, I pity anyone who had to listen to Sena Bryer seething into irrelevance. Playing a mage and getting to see it actually count during a cutscene was kino, and the resolution was extremely satisfying. I'd say this one was better than any patch in the 7.xs easily, but it's also hard to think of a 6.x patch other than Endwalker itself that was as good. I especially enjoyed the high percentage of Shale in this mixture, as well as how much of the content actually managed to engage me. The revelation that most of the things I thought were stupid about Solution Nine were all down to Calyx grooming their entire society to make them more susceptible to his plans could have been absolutely bungled but instead they stuck the landing. Good job and I am unironically so far hyped for 8.0.
