I can't really decipher it, but yeah the second letter is not a G (looks for me like an upside-down lowercase Omega).
It would be in line with the worldbuilding that the survivors only get the weaker artifacts, that one is not a gun and possibly can only hold 9 souls max, but I'm only guessing, I hope those small details will get explained later.
