Nah, this shit was in the works after the Young Turk revolution happened.
They killed off the Assyrian Christians a few months before the Armenians, even though the Assyrians had a good reputation among Ottomans, beginning in August-October of 1914. They feared Assyrians would ally with Iran in WW1. Iran remained neutral in WW1 yet Ottomans invaded Northern Iran to massacre Assyrians.
Turks have a habit of killing people preemptively. The Ottomans didn't spare their half-brothers from fratricide. Why would they care about some people they're unrelated to on the other side of their empire?

>helping them with logistics, murdering Turkish and Kurdish civilians in the rearguard, cutting off Ottoman supply trains
This was fabricated by General Enver following the failed battle of Sarikamish. In fact the Ottomans wanted Armenians living in Russia to rebel against Russia. Armenians refused. The Ottomans had grand plans to foment rebellions in the Caucasus among Muslim Caucasians, Azerbaijanis and others. The battle of Sarikamish in January 1915 ended those aspirations with most of the Ottoman Caucasus army dying due to the winter weather in the mountains.
