Ah, ya know. The satellite theory was a combination of the constraints of the camera controls, the way the world resets, how your squad is disassociated from your control interface, how you have information, vision, hearing, etc, beyond your squad itself and the superhuman qualities most of the races share. The Skeleton conspiracy was the launching point to combine it all together into a "you're an AI too" concept. I find it fun and leave it there. What I found particularly odd was how much people have to say about it. Just headcanon.
