we had an excessive number of good shooters back then, and the future seemed like it would flood us with more and more
sure, they were derivative and we criticised them for not innovating enough, but we didnt know the entire genre would regress with COD4 and the xbox 360 generation, and pretty much die with the ps4 generation
looking back, i dont think we were being too harsh, just that we overlooked many games that we would now like to play/replay because these games arent being made anymore
