FF XIV never really explains where miqo'tes and au ras come from, does it?
The Ancients exist, they get splintered, sundered into "modern humanity", but the word "humanity" in FFXIV is very vague, and include even the cat-eared miqo'tes, the long-lived bunny-eared vieras, and yet somehow exclude the snake-like anandras.
