I assume you're familiar with Thomas Ligotti? On the offchance you're not, I'd recommend his book The Conspiracy Against the Human Race. He makes the case for a species wide self annihilation. It's not the road map you're looking for, but you might find it nourishing to read something written by a kindred soul.
