Persona 3 is absolutely more influential than FFX though

It introduced 3D SMT gameplay and social links (with romance), with a heavy focus on story/characters.

Persona 3 is still the best story Atlus has ever came up with by far if you ask me, I really felt emotions at the ending.

FFX was fairly archaic turn-based combat and very linear, its story, characters, and art were 10/10, but it led to 0 games following in its footsteps.

Meanwhile we're still getting the legacy of Persona 3 in modern Atlus games like Metaphor.
