Did a writers retreat this past weekend which cemented I am solid, just not querying enough, and from seeing who there is published holy fuck bad writers get through.

But the group was an absolute caricature. Every woman was fat with terribly died hair writing fantasy, every guy was either a gen X basedjack manchild or a very old nice guy trying to get out his ramblings before death.

I flipped the fuck out at my HR department this week after I skipped a work event because fuck them. I wont get into details but they have done so much offensive shit I couldnt care less. Fuck you, pay me, or fire me and Ill take unemployment while doing 1099 stuff and double dip.

Accepting that I have a drug problem. The full acceptance really happened last night. And just a ton of frustrating surrounding my entire life, and the feeling like I tried so hard for so long and Ive been burnt out for the past 12 months and need a break so desperately.

Hopefully getting sober (I already dont drink) will restore some of that energy. Because it really set in just how many hundreds, if not thousands of hours Ive wasted on 2025 alone just being too fatigued emotionally or physically to do anything productive, when there are plenty of things that need to be done.

As someone who has gone through that with work, if it aint meant it aint mean to be. You cant realistically work somewhere longterm that makes you emotionally sick. Prep your resume, take serious time to explore roles, make catered cover letters for each that actually look human. Move on.

Grats on wedding. Heads up as long as you and your fiancee are on the same page about expectations you can make a beautiful wedding for cheap. I had 50+ people top floor of the nicest restaraunt in town, food and open bar, barely $5k total. No shitty DJ, dancefloor, everyone partied and got to spend time with each other.
