Uratha (Werewolves) often call Philadelphia a "wound," due to the vile nature of the animistic spirits in such places. Normal people, mortals, often use the word "shithole." That's where you are. You're in a shithole, a wound. You're young. You just had your First Change, were marked by Luna, the spirit-goddess of the moon. Spirits "gave" you territory; Kensington Ave & Allegheny Ave, and a few surrounding blocks. They told you "fix this." You don't even know what's really going on yet. How can you "fix this"? Fix Kensington Ave?

Theme: Defiance Against the Odds

This isn't fair. Your initiation into the Tribes, if you even got one, was perfunctory and incomplete. You didn't sign up for this. And it's tough shit. But you'll be damned if you let the bastards grind you down. Everybody is in your face, demanding the shirt off your back, money you don't have. But you guarantee if they keep fucking with you, they'll know who they're fucking with. They'll find the fuck out. Because for it to be any other way is signing your own death warrant.

Mood: In Over Your Head

How is some pup with an attitude problem supposed to take on grizzled warriors and win? That's some David and Goliath shit. It's something out of fables and make-believe. But on top of that, you're looking at things that don't exactly make a lot of sense. "Spirits"? Like ghosts? You definitely won't learn about these things in your little math and history lessons. Better get your no. 2 pencils out, and pay attention, because a missed detail could be your hide, young'n. Hope you entered this world with a two-plate bench and an understanding of firearms.
