NATO was meant to bring some common thought about, but it should have been considered that multiple countries from multiple cultures couldn’t always agree.
In the surface, the Warsaw Pact did this better but in reality, AKs from different countries are so different that they aren’t interchangeable. I’ll never forget my efforts to put wood on an AMD65.
