I mean it's a flick for children and Link hardly talks. As long as he is the guy who swings the sword and does the courage stuff it's a non issue if she gets top billing

The most ideal style for a Zelda movie and one where I see Link top-billing would be with a lot of silent-era film elements and focus on acrobatics and fear and distress and isolation Link experiences and a lot of love poured into environments and dungeons with a touch of surrealism, now and then cutting to Zelda, what the bad guys are doing and the rest of the world

But obviously this will never happen, a) because there are barely any directors good enough (maybe Eggers) and b) it's much easier and safer to cash in on the kiddy side of Zelda
