I'm certain the knight is a darkness being/titan either pretending to be Dess or Dess turned into one.
The Knight has the static effect as one, is either "Dark Or Star" as the shadow mantle protects against dark star, is seemingly made of the same material as one, has varying degrees of consciousness (Ralsei says the titan has no consciousness but it is cognizant enough to not attack itself, the knight has similar spurts of feralness like drooling but also seems cocky and self assured)
