yeah a butload of places in splatoon 1 had walls in sneaky places like that, for example the first wall shown here in bluefin depot in 1 is inkable so you can paint it and go around the camping spot of most chargers to take them by suprise, and the 2nd one can be used as a hiding/trapping spot if you go ink it and squid from the side closer to the water
most maps have little spots like that where you can either hide from someone or wait for an ambush
