I personally don't care too much for horror in the first place, but if I was to watch one, I'd much rather watch the pre-MPAA shit, they couldn't just do "BLOOD GUTS KNIFE KILL KILL" cuz of the code, so there's a lot more substance, more interesting to watch.
Maybe it's just me, or the fact that moviemaking being democratized in the later half of the 20th century means there's more product than in the Golden Age, but I feel there's been more horror slop since the Hayes Code was canned
