I think they do it to preserve the scale. Most size animation does this with big things because it's just how you make things feel big. If you want things to feel big and weighty, you slow them down, makes them feel dramatic and heaving.
Only size animations that don't do this are usually ones that involve shrink rather than growth, and even then if you look close you can see the speed of things change a lot depending on if the perspective is from the giantess or the tiny.
I mean it's probably not to the degree it would make them 'realistically slow' but it is something that does add to the sexiness, even if the basis for that is just an animators tool.
