How about no? Here's a thought experiment: Should a man be ambitious EVEN IF he lived in a perfect society? I say no. The fact that material possessions don't actually improve one's QOL, and the fact that failure is a high likelihood in the search for success, is too demotivating for smart people.
I'm just not gonna have ambition. I'm not gonna use people. I'm not gonna "network" and form superficial connections with NPCs. I'm not gonna "work smarter" (or harder).
If you are ambitious, I hate you. People like you are the reason humanity has destroyed nature. The reason the industrial revolution happened. I'm not even going to give you the pleasure of me saying "more power to you".
