GW spent decades begging gamers for decades to act like reasonable people, take risks, and incorporate fun/RPG elements(Stillmania, A Tale of Four Gamers, escalation leagues, the general's compendium, etc) but were ignored.

I think they finally had to just throw up their hands and give in to the autistic neckbeards. So now half the modern FAQs consist of stuff like "yes, you have to deploy your guys in the deployment zone".
