Dear ice monkeys from Sweden. The way to fix the SPEAR is to give it an alternative manual guidance firing mode. Not that I could ever trust you to do this without breaking some random element of the game, like somehow make the Sprint Booster suddenly not work and also drain more stamina.
>Hold aim button
>Fire missile
>View changes to FPV with a camera overlay in front of the missile
>Control the missile with the mouse or right gamepad stick
>Fuel system with a 150 meter effective range to prevent complete and utter game cheesing
>Can now guide that monumental damage into the faces of Factory Striders, Bile Titans, or safely dispatch stubborn bases while protected by cover
>Let go of aiming, or get staggered/ragdolled out of it, and the missile starts flying out of control, whizzing in every direction unless you regain control by aiming again, otherwise it either aimlessly burns up its fuel, or smashes into something
>Standard lock can be reserved for Bot Gunships, Bot Fabricators, Stingrays, and nerfed Harvesters who eat shit when anything hits their main body now
Instead of being cucked out of the SPEAR's superior damage by a schizophrenic lock-on system that hates weak points, you are now trading away mobility and situational awareness in exchange for stats that exceed the Recoilless, alongside the already existing trade of losing three rounds over the Recoilless.
