The new AR isn't as bad as you shits are making it out to be, had a really easy run with it on D10 bugs.

Dear ice monkeys from Sweden. The way to fix the SPEAR is to give it an alternative manual guidance firing mode. Not that I could ever trust you to do this without breaking some random element of the game, like somehow make the Sprint Booster suddenly not work and also drain more stamina.

It all comes down to cost and effect. The hard removal of killing a threat is preferable to the soft removal of crowd controlling an effect. Crowd control effects are only useful if the cost to disable the target is very low, or the cost to kill the target in a timely manner is prohibitively high.

Right now enemies are in a sorry gigafucking nerfed state, so there isn't much reason to not just fucking kill everything. Gas gets around this a bit because it is largely distributed at very low cost (grenades, extremely low CD orbital, or a backpack that automatically disperses it at all times) and also doubles as hard removal for the weakest foes.

Stun on a primary is decent for bugs and especially the Predator Strain, especially if you combo it with a guard dog or turret who can help make up for your middling DPS, and it doesn't do that much less DPS then the LibPen so if you're used to lower DPS weapons, it doesn't feel bad. The rest of the stuff is trash because you're giving up far more important slots for a shit CC effect, or in the case of the pistol, it's an active downgrade if you're capable of aiming.

Super Earth will almost assuredly be invaded by the Illuminate, and all of the factions, at some point in the future. Prior to that you'll get to fight the Illuminate in mega cities on other planets, and the missions will be basically identical to the super earth ones aside from the skybox.

Most major orders are generic nothingburgers, and arrowhead is pretty strongly railroading us towards their desired story points. There have been some bespoke missions in the past that were kind of fomo and haven't returned. Namely the deployment of the TCS towers, the destruction of the TCS towers, and the deployment of the Dark Fluid weapon. This was pretty retarded wasted effort on their part, and I hope that they bring the missions back eventually.

the first helldivers game had a completely organic galactic war system. The community has won, and lost, several galactic wars. In helldivers 2 arrowhead has a game master that is orchestrating the attacks. At some point in the future they might go hands off and let the war be fully organic.

Here's the thing that a lot of gamers don't realize. There is a key difference between a VITAL POINT and a WEAK POINT. Some more arcadey games overlap the two with obvious glowing "SHOOT HERE TO WIN" points that are simultaneously vital and weak.

AH wanted to be a semi realistic, and in real life vital points are NOT WEAK POINTS. They are HARD POINTS. If you have something important like your brain or your heart or the crew compartment of a tank, then you're going to defend the fuck out of those vital points that you cannot survive without. When allocating resources for your defenses, you'll allocate more of your defenses towards protecting your vitals than you will towards protecting your non-vitals.

So the weak points in a target's armor probably are not the most efficient way to kill a target because the weakest parts of their armor protect the least important parts of their anatomy. You might be able to kill a target via the weak point via a death by a thousand cuts, but it's not an ideal way to deal a lethal blow. But if you have a big enough gun to overpower the defenses around the target's vitals, then attacking that heavily defended vital point is the best way to kill the target.

In their original version of the game, they seemed to have wanted chargers to require multiple AT hits to defeat from the front, while the softer kill approach was massed application of firepower to their butt. They never sat down and did the math to realize that one AT to the leg and then damage to the leg was the shortest path to a charger kill. The community figured that out within a day or two.
